To this end, we provide links to news and intel sources, along
with a readable collection of information-packed editorials,
article submissions, in-house writers' articles, and readers'
retorts.
We’ve identified not only domestic (US) news sources, but also
foreign (non-US) news sources, as well as some lesser known
sources of open channel intelligence and situation reports.
The latter are not so widely known, but often provide information
on events, trends and scenarios which will (or should) become
tomorrow’s news. Many of the domestic and foreign news sources
provide free e-mail subscriptions with customizable options.
Estimating, planning for, and fabricating the future has
become the focus of a number of organizations. In “Future
News”, we’ve assembled links to some of the more astute
progosticators of this fractal era in our history, including futurists, think tanks, noted sages and our own resident prognosticator, Martha Howell.
We’ve listed several Info-Search and Delivery mechanisms,
using the web’s emerging “push-pull” technology, to help you
find, organize and deliver news and other data to your electronic home... not that they work well for all
purposes, but it may be worth your time to know they exist, and
how they work.
Finally, we offer a a random assortment of articles, commentary,
editorial arm-flailing, rants and raves for your perusal,
provocation and amusement.
We invite your comments, rebuttals and counter-rants, and we’ll
be happy to post those submissions in “Reader’s Retorts”. You
can also submit articles for featured publication in NewsBase.
NewsBase is not currently offering compensation for such submissions. Authors should take all customary precautions to protect any of their submissions as intellectual property. We highly recommend that all writers utilize both copyright and Writer's Guild facilities as mechanisms for protecting their literary works. NewsBase heartily endorses the terms of the emerging new WIPO provisions that relate to intellectual and artistic property rights, particularly concerning electronic media in the information age. You'll find links to relevant sites below under "Intellectual and Artistic Property Rights".
