Instructions for using SIGWG2 list

OBJECTIVES OF WG2 GROUP

1. To form a colloborative group to define methods and procedures for testing Desktop Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) systems for Year 2000 compliance and define and document workarounds and solutions.

2. To attempt to reduce duplication of effort and identify unnecessary and time consuming tasks.

3. To produce and distribute deliverables within a specific time frame. (Interim estimate - 1998-05-31)

4. Information concerning members or their employers that may be disclosed in the course of group activites shall be confidential. Official WG2 reports and publications will be released in the name of the group, shall be deemed to be in the public domain, and the Anonymity of the Contributors shall be upheld.

5. Encourage close cooperation with, and support from, Government.
