We recognise the significance of
the Year 2000 problem. It affects not just individual
organisations but the whole of the supply chain.
It is vital that customers and
suppliers, at all stages in every chain of supply, know the
businesses they rely on are committed to continuity of business
and resolving the problem. Therefore we make this public pledge:
- We are actively working to
ensure the continuity of our business and it is our
intention to minimise the impact of the Year 2000 problem
on it, through the Year 2000 and beyond
- We are committed to sharing
information about resolving the Year 2000 problem and
will share details of our Year 2000 project with those
who have a genuine interest in the information
- Insofar as we are supplying
date relevant products or services, we will endeavour to
give access to up to date, effective and appropriate Year
2000 compliance information about them. Where practicable
we will use all reasonable endeavours to help customers
mitigate the impact of the Year 2000 problem in products
and services previously supplied
- We will keep secure all Year
2000 information shared confidentially with us by others
and not use it save as necessary for the proper
implementation of our Year 2000 project nor disclose it
without proper permission
- We will work cooperatively
and in good faith with our supply chain partners on Year
2000 issues
- We are actively working to
solve the Year 2000 problem rather than taking legal
action. We will, whenever appropriate and possible, use
consensual means for resolving any disputes over Year
2000 problems that may arise
