INTRODUCTION

This document was developed by the Best Practices Sub Committee of the Interagency Committee
dealing with the Year 2000 Problem.

The document is divided into five phases which represent the modified systems life cycle
being followed in solving the Year 2000 problem. From the index, the viewer may proceed
directly to the section dealing with that topic by "clicking" on the topic.

It is the intent of the authors to include references to Best Practices where they are
available. This is a living document and will be updated periodically as new information
and/or Best Practices become available. Where a process activity has proven to be helpful,
it is included in its entirety.
